Just saw 2 Marines on TV, both said there are shortages of water, ammo, and MREs! We can`t even supply our own guys, how the hell can we sustain Iraq after this insanity? The only trickle down effect generated by this administration is stupidity!! BTW how`re we doin on the defector scorecard? Now here`s a real cause for impeachment "feloneous ignorance".

Silver?

Have you ever been in the service? I doubt it.

Logistical problems are a constant problem in all wars. This isn't something new. We ran into this many times during the Gulf War. Doesnt make it right....it just IS.

Ask The General, I'm sure he has stories as well.

Patton's 3rd army ran out of gas several times.

"If I do my full duty, the rest will take care of itself."

I spent more time in the "Mess Hall" than you ever did in the svc. Logistical problems are to be
expected, but not 1 wk into a campaign. Dumsfield and his advisor R. Pearle are Bush lackeys. They don`t have the stones or the experience to advise. They underestimated the Iraqi resolve, and shortchanged the commanders in the field. Not enough troops, and too much reliance on air power. Shades of NAM, where I was while you were sucking mama`s tit!

Go Silver, you tell 'em!

You are right on point, and I joined this criticism months ago, that US stands to repeat a Vietnam situation, where the Civilian leaders in Wash, with no combat experience are calling the shots, especially idiots like Rumsdum, Rove, Rice, Pearle, Cheney.
LESS THAN 2 WEEKS IN AND THEY ARE TALKING LOGISTICAL PROBLEMS!!!!!!
Great, what gonna happen after 2 months.....support our brave and selfless young fighting men and women Washington Jackasses!

No offense Silver.....but you are a fool regarding logistics.

I suggest you no longer comment of what you don't know. It's embaressing.

If I must spell it out for you, the beginnings of any war, are precisely the time when logistical problems DO come into play.

I've stayed out of the nuts and bolts of military debtes on here, and I intend to in the future. Amongst this crowd, it serves no purpose, but on this specific issue, I'd suggest you rethink what your saying. I'll debate military strategy at any point....but I don't think this crowd would appreciate it.

What`s really embarrassing is people who come on here that can`t spell! As far as your discussing military strategy w/anyone, it doesn`t take a genius to see you have no clue or enough real experience to get involved. You may study any number of books written by QUALIFIED people, but I`m afraid that`s the best we can expect from you! Satan & Cussin this discussion has become another case of futility, I`m off to the casino!

Very well....

I'll just take my 12 years in the military, my 9 months spent in the Saudi and Kuwait desert, my personal experience going 14 days with out a resupply during what was considered a slow build up of force....and throw it all out the window.

Because after all, I can't spell.

Thank goodness for that.
Just another example of the self-interested motives of the Bush "Crude" Crew in their pursuit to fill the coffers of thier cadre.

We are brothers in arms, as I spent more time in than I care to remember also. So as a Vet we can agree to disagree. I posted the other day about my most recent trip to the VAMC here in Mpls. What really pisses me off is benefits being cut to us and then giving huge tax breaks to millionaires. BTW I`d say the same thing if a Dem. was doing it. Just an example and it`s a small thing I know, but they used to give a meal slip if you were svc. connected (I am) and had to fast for blood drawing. That`s cut off as of the last mo. or so. Well 3 bucks DOES add up. LOL

The war plan was seriously flawed IMO. Yes problems are to be expected, but IMO Rummy and Co. expected this to be over by now. They did not take into account a number of variables, and the longer this war goes on, the more problems we will have. A quick victory would be much better for us for any number or reasons.

Futhermore, I've heard reports that the war planners had originally sent an invasion plan with twice the number of troops, but the Bush Admin kicked it back for political reasons.

I don't know if it's true or not, I'm still searching for confirmation, but I would not be surprised if this was the case.
